Cypriot singer-songwriter Andros Nikou announces his new single, “Meet Me Halfway,” released worldwide today, with the cover of New Music Friday Cyprus marking the occassion. Following his debut album Chapter One, released earlier this year, the Limassol-based independent artist delivers a compelling Soul/Pop and Alternative R&B track exploring the raw, vulnerable complexities of human connection.”Meet Me Halfway” showcases Nikou’s signature emotive vocal delivery and melodic storytelling. The song blends smooth, contemporary R&B production with atmospheric melodies, capturing the delicate friction of two people trying to bridge an emotional divide. Building on his 2026 momentum from tracks like “Slow like this,” this single marks a powerful step forward in his sonic journey.”This song is about the vulnerability it takes to save a connection,” says Andros Nikou. “It’s that pivotal moment where pride is set aside, and you ask the other person to simply meet you in the middle. Spanning 12 tracks—from “Intro” to “Outro”—this third album by the Cypriot duo charts a journey through loss, self-destruction, isolation, decay, family, the social reality of Cyprus, and JUΛIO’s own relationship with hip-hop.
In ANIMA SOLA, writing serves as more than just artistic expression; it is a necessity and a means of survival. The pen, the microphone, and rap emerge as an outlet for things that cannot be articulated any other way.
At the album’s core lies a deeply personal journey through recent years: losses, mistakes, fear, guilt, memories, health issues, repressed emotions, despair, passions, and traumas. At the same time, the gaze turns outward to social inequality, alienation, and the contradictions of modern Cypriot reality—elements that coexist and add to this dark tableau.
The title Anima Sola—meaning “Lonely Soul”—borrows from an old religious image and reinterprets it within a more contemporary and personal context: …the individual standing alone against the burdens they carry and in their effort to pass through the fire without being consumed by it.
ANIMA SOLA does not seek to idealize the darkness. It speaks of the persistence required to pass through it and overcome it. It speaks of the human experience and of self-acceptance through that experience.
