Born in the beating heart of the Mediterranean Sea, the Cypriot singer-songwriter and producer Choby moved to Hull, England, at 18 years old on his path to becoming an internationally acclaimed artist. As evident in his music, the artist is eager to fuse the sonic elements of home into his craft while maintaining his passion for pushing the boundaries of his art. Choby strives for a truly authentic sound through a congruous blend of heartfelt lyricism, bluesy guitar solos, hard-hitting drum beats, and jazzy chords. The artist decontextualizes these elements with a unique Mediterranean style that is both new and exciting to audiences worldwide.
Although Choby uses quite a lot of electronic elements in his music, he does not shy away from live, with exciting arrangements of his studio releases accompanied by a full backing band to create room for improvisation, spontaneity, and healthy amounts of rock n’ roll. Bringing a Prince-esque aura and Buckley-esque vocals, the artist has recently been rocking the stages with classical guitar and horns in addition to his usual backing of R&B sonics, showing further elements of experimentation in his live performances.
