We use ‘artist‘ as an umbrella term for singers, producers, songwriters, and other creatives in the music industry and related industries. If you think something is missing, do not hesitate to reach out to us.

Our definition of a Cypriot artist is the following:

In order to be defined as a Cypriot artist, the basic requirement is that the artist is Cypriot; has Cypriot ancestry; or is a permanent resident on the island of Cyprus. 

If it is a group, at least 50% of the group’s members must be Cypriots or permanent residents on the island of Cyprus.

Hence, you can be born and raised in Cyprus, currently live abroad; You can be born in Canada to Cypriot parents and identify as Cypriot-Canadian; you can have moved to Cyprus as an adult – all of the above mean that you are a Cypriot artist to us. 

Identity is personal and multifaceted. This is to keep our website and mission about Cypriot artists. But we also do not want to misrepresent anybody, hence why we ask you to fill this out

Note: How we categorize certain things (like the regions of the island) or spellings is not us taking a stand for anyone or any specific solution in the current situation. We believe in a United Cyprus for all Cypriots. That includes speakers of all recognized languages of Cyprus – and many more. The diversity of Cyprus is its’ strength, not a weakness. We conduct business in English, thus English spellings, to be on the same level as accessibility to all Cypriots. It is our vision to have our website in all national languages of Cyprus in the future.
