I go by ZenX, but the person behind the name is Ellios, someone who grew up swimming in two cultures, three languages, and a whole mess of emotions that never sat still. Speaking Greek, Arabic, and English gave me different lenses to express myself, each one with its own rhythm and emotional weight. Music became the one space where all those parts of me could coexist. Classical piano was my first doorway into expression, a discipline that sharpened my ear and taught me how to feel structure, not just follow it. Even back then, I knew I wanted to create something that felt alive, something that sounded like the inside of my head when words weren’t enough.
Rap found me at the moment I needed honesty more than anything. Artists like J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, JID, Juice WRLD, and Denzel Curry showed me that storytelling could hit just as hard as any melody, and that vulnerability could sit right next to technical skill without weakening it. That mix of introspection and intensity is what pushed me to start writing in 2017. My first release, Prometheus, dropped in 2022 and marked the beginning of me taking this seriously, not just as a dream but as a path I’m actively building.
My background plays a huge role in the way I write. Being half Cypriot and half Lebanese, raised between contrasting worlds and the languages that came with them, gave me a perspective that never really fits into one box. There’s a constant push and pull in my identity, and instead of trying to “solve” that, I’ve learned to let it fuel my creativity. The people I grew up with, the losses, the changes within my family, the shifts in my mindset, all of it bleeds into my lyrics. I’m drawn to themes of growth, accountability, love, and the version of myself I’m still trying to become.
At the end of the day, my music is a conversation with anyone who’s ever felt stuck between who they are and who they want to be. I’m not here to pretend I’ve figured everything out. I’m here to document the process and turn those moments of clarity, chaos, and contradiction into something people can hold onto. If my songs can make someone feel understood for even a second, then the work is doing what it’s supposed to do.
